Fradulent Emails from IEHA – Hawaii Chapter – Scam Alert!

Aloha members! It was recently brought to our attention that there was an email sent to one of our chapter officers asking for an immediate large monetary payment for chapter expenses.

This email WAS NOT sent by anyone on behalf of the IEHA – Hawaii Chapter.

Please DO NOT respond to any of these emails. This tactic is known as spoofing. Email spoofing is the creation of an email message with a misleading sender address that is more than likely familiar to the recipient. The intent is to have the recipient open and possibly take action based on the contents of the message.

If you have received any emails, please let us know ASAP so that we can inform the proper authorities.

Mahalo for your attention and cooperation.
